It's October! So it's InkTober!
Inktober came about with artist Jake Parker who wanted to improve his drawing skills. He created a drawing prompt list for everyday of October. Other Artists found out about this challenge and look forward to begin their drawings inspired by these prompts. http://mrjakeparker.com/inktober FOR EXTRA CREDIT: Students will need to complete 1-20 drawing prompts. They will need to show Ms.Cardenas all 20 completed drawings to get extra points on their 9 weeks final grade. Drawings may be done in their sketchbook or on loose leaf paper that will need to be combined when showing Ms.Cardenas. Students should also use the hashtags of #inktober and #inktober2016 to participate in the official InkTober competition. For Hendrickson: #inktoberHHS Happy Drawing! Half work day on Corrugated Cardboard sculptures. After completing the projects, students were given a self evaluation sheet to fill out about their piece.
Reviewed Elements of Art and introduced Principle of Design. Students continued on corrugated cardboard project. Project will be due Sept 8th.
Examine Frank Gehry buildings. Begin Corrugated Cardboard project. Students are to create a unique sculpture out of corrugated cardboard that is has visual movement, positive and negative space and must be at least 15inches tall.
Warmup: Learn and run through the warmup setup. Watch: "What is art?" On a post-it note you will write what art means to you, name on back and post on the front board Begin Notes on the elements of art. Create small examples of elements of art that will be combined to make one sculpture. Study Andy Warhol "Clouds" Fill in pervious made balloons with air and take them outside. In class we went over:
